Finding Calm in the Chaos

What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?

Any part of the chaos, whatever that may be. This morning, my toddler had me up at two a.m. for the day. By the time he finally fell back asleep at five, it was already time for me to get up at six—wake my oldest for school, clean out the fridge, tackle the litter box, and take out the garbage.

I can already tell today is one of those days where I’m not leaving the house. A nap is definitely in my future, and I plan to take full advantage of any quiet moments that come my way. I was going to make a donation drop-off run today, but that’s officially being postponed until Friday.

I haven’t had much time to actually sit down and read lately, but I’ve been getting my fix through audiobooks. Over the past few weeks, I finished two—Faking Christmas and Check & Mate. Both were a little outside my usual comfort zone, but they ended up being really cute and enjoyable listens.

I hope everyone can find a little calm in their chaos this week, take a minute, take a breather, relax, and reflect. Some days feel like pure survival mode, and that’s okay. Between the chaos, the errands, and the lack of sleep, I’m learning to slow down when I can and celebrate the small wins—like finishing an audiobook or having five minutes of quiet before someone needs me again.
