Settling Into Winter With Books, Balance, and Less Social Media

What book are you reading right now?

My current physical read is The Christmas Tree Farm by Laurie Gilmore, though I haven’t cracked it open yet—I just wrapped up Told You So by Mayci Neeley. It took me about five hours to get through her autobiography, which honestly felt more like reading someone’s personal journal, but in the best way. I loved getting a deeper look into her story, especially after watching the new season of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.

Now that the cold weather is here, I’ll be deep in my hermit season, diving into all the books. November might feel early to some, but I’ll definitely be enjoying a few Christmas reads. I also recently deleted all my social media—except for Facebook—and it already feels like a breath of fresh air. I’m ready to pour my energy into my blog, my podcast, and my reading life (along with being a mom, of course).

I really tried to dive into the TikTok life, but posting multiple times a day quickly became way too much for me. So I’ve decided that if I’m going to create and promote content, I might give YouTube a try instead.

As for audiobooks, I’ve got a growing list, but my most recent pick is Catching Christmas. It feels like it’s going to be a cute little holiday read, and honestly, it’s a nice break from all the fantasy and fae worlds I’ve been living in. Don’t worry, though—I’ll definitely be picking up Brimstone soon.

I’d love to hear what you’re reading right now, too. Do you have any cozy winter picks, can’t-miss audiobooks, or Christmas reads I should add to my list? Drop your recommendations—I’m always looking for my next favorite book.
