The Cozy Cauldron

I live in the middle of nowhere—our town is very small and there really isn’t a lot to do around here. But during the summer it’s absolutely gorgeous, especially near the St. Lawrence River. I love taking a nature walk when the weather is warm, even though I’m definitely a homebody at heart.

Most days, I’m happiest at home with a good book and my kiddos. When it comes to places to eat, there’s a little taco spot nearby that I love. It’s not a franchise, which makes it feel even more special. My husband and I like to go there for the occasional lunch date, and we usually enjoy a few brews while we’re at it. It’s a very small place, but the service and the food are always great.

I also love having friends over. Cooking for them and creating a relaxing space is one of my favorite things to do. I usually have a movie playing in the background, and sometimes we chat about books and turn it into a mini book club. Other times we just hang out and color. Honestly, I’d much rather stay in with a few drinks than go out anyway.

At the end of the day, I’ve found that the simple moments are the ones that fill me up the most. Whether I’m out enjoying the beauty of summer or curled up at home with the people I love, this little corner of the world feels exactly right for me.
